Presbyterian Hospital, comprising over 60 faculty members. Our
multidisciplinary programs offer a full range of treatment
modalities to care for patients; we have a vibrant neurology
residency program and subspecialty fellowships. The Department has
state-of the-art facilities, with programs in Neuro-Oncology,
Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Sleep Medicine,
Neuromuscular Disease, Stroke, Sleep Medicine, Headache and General
Neurology.Specific responsibilities: The department is in search of
a neurologist to work collaboratively with spine surgeons,
physiatrists and pain management physicians in the management of
complex patients with spine disease. The neurologist will evaluate
and manage of patients with pain, weakness, sensory symptoms and
gait disorders of presumed spinal origin as well as the broad array
of mimics. Expertise in EMG is essential. Experience with pain
management is preferred. The Neurologist will work two days per
week at the newly constructed NYP Och Spine Center and two days a
week at the main campus location. Additional clinical
responsibilities include 2-3 weeks annually covering residents on
the in-patient consultation service,
Scholarly activity is encouraged, including independent research,
collaborative research projects, or clinical trials. Teaching
opportunities of medical students, neurological Residents, rotating
Neuromuscular Fellow clinics, nurses, and advanced practice
providers are also available. We function as a highly cohesive and
collaborative division with an expectation of camaraderie,
teamwork, and professionalism.Job Specifications: Applicants must
be Board Certified or Board eligible in Neurology by the ABPN and
completed Fellowship training in neuromuscular diseases and be
highly proficient in EMG. Additionally, experience with
nerve/muscle/skin biopsies, autonomic testing, neuromuscular
ultrasound, neuromuscular pathology, and intrathecal drug delivery
is preferred but not required. The ability to obtain a New York
State medical license at the time of employment is a
